A big cheque from Jaspreet
6 February 2012
On 27th January 2012, 32 staff, trustees volunteers and friends of Advocacy Plus met at Carluccio's in Upper Street, Islington, to celebrate the achievements of our volunteers in 2011.One of our star guests was a long-standing friend of Advocacy Plus, law student Jaspreet Kaur Mann, who first joined us in Summer 2010, to provide much needed adminstrative support in our quest to gain the Advocacy Quality Performance Mark. We were successful and Jaspreet played a large part in our success.
Jaspreet stayed with us for another 9 months through 2011 as a volunteer advocate and supported several older clients in Westminster to have their voice heard.
Finally, Jaspreet, together with her team of law student fundraisers, held a pub quiz, published and sold a cookery book and gave their blood (you could say this was a step too far!) to raise £630 to support Advocacy Plus's work.
Jaspreet proudly handed a cheque for £630 to our Chair David Bramson on the evening of the 27th January to much applause from all the guests.
